Digital News - The Majuli district administration has declared November 16 (saturday) a local holiday in the Majuli District on account of Raas festival .

A press note issued by the Majuli district administration this evening stated the District Magistrate, by an order passed today, has declared a local holiday in the river island district on Saturday in view of Raas festivity.
All Government offices, court educational institutes, banks will remain closed as per the DM,'s order, the note said.
The note further stated that the order also mentioned that as per the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
However, this Local Holiday will not be effective in case of any examinations of
school & colleges already scheduled. and other emergency essential services.
